Get A Flat Tummy Without Exercise!

I’m willing to bet that it took you 0.5 seconds or less to click on this article right after reading the title. If so, I don’t blame you; we all want a flat tummy but not all of us want to exercise. Is it really possible to get a flat tummy without working out? The short of it, is yes. Getting your nutrition on point and eating clean will help get you a flat stomach. But just like any muscle in the body, you need to work out if you want to tone it and get the dream abs you’ve always wanted.

In any case, here are some quick tips to help you get a flat tummy and maybe jumpstart your quest for that sexy, toned midsection.

Get Your Probiotics On

We’ve all heard it said before that our gut has a natural flora and fauna that needs to stay balanced. In order to attain and maintain that balance, you need to feed the good bacteria in your gut. That’s exactly what probiotics do. Supplement your diet with probiotics to help you digest food better, you get sick less, and help you get rid of bloating.

Watch Your Salt Intake

It’s pretty much household knowledge that salt retains water and it’s true. While salt is still somehow useful to the body, if you have too much of it in your diet, it can be harmful to you (especially if you have high blood pressure) and will definitely cause bloating. Stay away from the extra salty stuff and you can keep your water retention down to a bare minimum.

Limit Alcohol Consumption

I know this can be quite a difficult one, especially if a good happy hour is what you look forward to after a long week of stressful work. But too much beer and other sugary drinks can definitely wreak havoc to your waistline. Beer and it’s fizzy goodness can cause major gas and overgrowth of bad bacteria in your gut. Not to mention, alcohol is really empty calories that you take in without bringing any nutritional benefit to your body. If you can’t eliminate it altogether, then treat it like a cheat meal or a reward and save it for one day out of the week.

Stop Chewing Gum

This one is honestly something I struggle with. Since I’m not a fan of hard candies and lollies, I love to chew a nice sugar-free minty piece of gum. But when you chew gum, you can’t avoid swallowing some air. And the more frequently you make it a habit, the more air you end up swallowing which can cause gas and bloating.

Have Your Hormones Checked

This is especially true for women. Our hormones can definitely cause bloating and we are well acquainted with this struggle on a monthly basis. For women going through menopause, bloating is definitely a ubiquitous complaint.

Limit Sugary Treats

I’d say this is pretty self-explanatory. The more sugary treats we eat, the more inches we are adding to our waistlines–especially if we aren’t working it off in the gym or outdoors. Keep your sugar intake to a bare minimum and make smart choices when it comes to treats or rewards for yourself.

Put The Soda Down

Drinking soda is like snacking on sugar. It can even be harder to track you sugar intake when you drink it than if you ate it! Sugar + carbonation are a deadly combo that leads to stomach bloating. Instead, load up on water to help you curb your cravings and help you feel full so you avoid unnecessary snacking.

These are just some quick tips to help you get a flat stomach, but of course nothing can replace good nutrition, clean eating, and regular exercise. What you put in your body will definitely show on the outside and affect how you feel on the inside. So make smart choices that you’ll thank yourself for later on.
